I believe your books should bring clarity, not more stress.
Running a business takes courage, creativity, and an incredible amount of work. But when the bookkeeping starts piling up, it can become difficult to see how your business is actually doing—or what your next move should be.
That’s where I come in.
I created #218BOOKKEEPING to help Minnesota service providers, contractors, creatives, and solo business owners feel more organized, informed, and confident about their finances.
My approach is calm, practical, and judgment-free. Whether your books are already in good shape or you have been avoiding them for months, you will always be met with respect and a clear path forward.
Experience grounded in real business
My professional background includes bookkeeping, office management, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, reconciliations, reporting, invoicing, customer service, and detailed financial recordkeeping.
I also understand business from the owner’s side. As a creative entrepreneur myself, I know what it feels like to balance client work, family responsibilities, daily operations, and all the behind-the-scenes tasks required to keep a business moving.
That combination shapes the way I serve my clients: with careful attention to the numbers and genuine understanding for the person behind them.
More than accurate numbers
Good bookkeeping is about more than categorizing transactions.
It is about knowing:
My role is to bring consistency and structure to that process so you are not left guessing.
I want you to open your reports and understand what they are telling you—not feel overwhelmed by them.
What it’s like to work with me
When you work with #218BOOKKEEPING, you can expect:
I will ask questions when something does not look right, explain what I need from you, and help create a routine that makes staying organized feel manageable.
You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. You simply need to be ready for greater clarity.

A little more about me
Outside of bookkeeping, I'm an artist, creative business owner, and mom who understands what it means to balance meaningful work with a full life.
I'm naturally drawn to both creativity and organization -- whether I'm designing something new, developing a new system, or helping someone turn an overwhelming situation into a manageable next step.
My faith, family, and Minnesota roots are important to me, and they influence the care, honesty, and compassion, I bring to my work. I believe business relationships should feel human. You deserve a bookkeeping partner who listens, communicates clearly, and genuinely wants to see your business succeed.
Let’s make your books feel lighter.
You did not start your business to spend your evenings sorting transactions, searching for receipts, or worrying about whether your numbers are correct.
Let me help you create a clearer, calmer financial foundation—so you can spend more time doing the work you do best.
Sincerely,
Shanna Olsen
